Gilberto Gagliardi
Although a composer, maestro and
arranger, trombone player Gilberto Gagliardi has actually dedicated most
of his efforts to teaching. Gilberto has made music his profession. Son of
José Gagliardi, a famous trombone player himself, in the 30s and 40s,
Gilberto has performed with Villa Lobos, Camargo Guarnieri and Eleazar de
Carvalho among others. Gagliardi is also Vice-president for Brazil's Ordem
dos Músicos (Musicians' Association) and has a series of published
compositions and instrument methods, besides important parts for trombone
and piano. |

Quinzinho
Born in Mariana (MG),
Raimundo Pires de Oliveira is a trumpet player, composer and arranger. He
began his studies at the Conservatório Musical de São Caetano do Sul. He
also studied at the ULM (Free Music University) and attended harmony and
arrangement practice courses. He is currently studying arranging with
Claudio Leal, maestro and arranger and works as performer and arranger
with the Atrium Jazz Band. He owns the Escola de Música Free Music
School, in Santo André (SP).
Quinzinho has already played with the São Paulo Jazz Band besides
playing in shows with Roberto Carlos, Chico Buarque, Vanderley Cardoso and
others. He launched his first CD with some of his compositions, hymns and
canticles. He is an active member of the Baptist Church in Vila Gerte
(SP). |

Paulo Lacerda |
Paulo Lacerda
A native of Rio de Janeiro,
Paulo Lacerda is a Graduate in trombone from the UFRJ -Universidade
Federal do Rio de Janeiro (RJ Federal University) and a Graduate in
Brazilian Historic Musicology from the UFMG - Universidade Federal de
Minas Gerais (MG Federal University).
He has performed with the Gama Filho University Symphony Orchestra and
the Young Symphony Orchestra of Rio de Janeiro. In Belo Horizonte he
integrated the Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra.
He was the first trombone professor at the Music School of the UFMG (MG
Federal University) where he created the under graduate and graduate
courses.
He has been recently elected president for the Brazilian Trombone
Players' Association where he has been a founding member since 1995.
